PROGRAMS

My volunteer role as Chair of the Photography Committee was to organize lectures, programs, and exhibitions on both contemporary and historical photography to continue and preserve our legacy of supporting photography as a fine art. The committee includes photographers, publishers, historians, collectors, and artists who also serve as volunteers.

The National Arts Club is a non-profit organization located in New York City whose mission is to stimulate, foster, and promote public interest in the arts and to educate the American people in the fine arts.

In 1902, the club hosted an exhibition curated by Alfred Stieglitz who was one of the founding members of the National Arts Club in 1898.

His intent was to present, for one the first times, photography as an art.

A sampling of the programming, exhibitions, and Medals of Honor events are listed below.
